An unusual collaborative act.

NEW DELHI: Here’s some unusual collaborative news: Shruti Hasan, the daughter of legendary actors Kamal Hasan and Sarika, is going to sing for Sonakshi Sinha in Tevar.
It’s being said that Shruti’s voice suited Sonakshi very well, so the decision was made. Shruti has always been inclined to playback singing. Her first track was at the age of 14 for Hey Ram. After that she made her debut in Bollywood as a singer in her own filmLuck, where she sang the title track with Clinton Cerejo. She has sung for several Tamil films too.
The song is a romantic number. Music Directors Sajid-Farhad found Shruti’s voice fresh and soothing which suited the mood of the song. With the trend of actresses turning singer in their own films, like Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor, Shruti will be however, an exception, as she is just singing for the film, but is not a part of it.
On the other hand, Sonakshi is very happy being ‘lent’ Shruti’s voice, and has no qualms over the decision.
Tevar is a Hindi remake of a Telugu blockbuster film Okkadu featuring Bhumika Chawla, Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj. In the Hindi remake, Sonakshi will play the lead with Manoj Bajpai and Arjun Kapoor. Interestingly, Arjun Kapoor will play the role of a young kabaddi player in the film – a sport which is a lot in news nowadays in India.
Arjaun Kapoor for the first time has collaborated with his family for the film, as his uncle Sanjay Kapoor will be producing it and his father Boney Kapoor will overlook and supervise everything. The film is slated to release on January 9, 2015.
