NEW DELHI: The trailer of Ekkees Toppon ki Salaami has been released on 11 August. The movie will hit theaters on September 12.
The film revolves around two spoilt sons who will go to any length to give their father an honorable send-off which he deserved.
It’s the story of Purushotam Joshi, played by Anupam Kher, an honest government employee who fails to earn his bit of appreciation despite his utmost honesty towards his job and family. He does not fall to the lure of corruption and is fearless of threats.
His two spoilt sons, played by Divyendu Sharma and Manu Rishi, think that he is too stubborn and honesty hurts the family’s chances to move ahead in life.
Stripped off his pride, Joshi dies but with a wish on his lips. He wanted to get a 21-guns salute. Thereafter, the film takes the audience through the unbelievable attempt of the two sons, Shekhar and Subhash Joshi, to provide their father an Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami.
Kher has played similar character in Khosla ka Ghosla, Special Chabbees and many more.
Neha Dhupia plays a pretty temptress called Jayaprabha in the film.
Other than Anupam Kher, Divyendu Sharma, Manu Rishi and Neha Dhupia, the film also stars Aditi Sharma, Rajesh Sharma and Uttara Baokar. It is penned by Rahil Qazi and directed by Ravindra Gautam under the banner of Nautanki Films and Pen India Pvt. Ltd.
The first trailer of the film was launched on Monday in Mumbai. The Launch had actors Shah Rukh Khan and Irrfan Khan attend to lend their support to the film.
