MUMBAI: Actor Ranbir Kapoor finds his legendary grandfather Raj Kapoor’s life “entertaining” and “interesting” enough for a short film.
At the inauguration of a short film festival, named ‘Shuruaat Ka Interval’ here Wednesday, Ranbir was asked about the one person on whom he’d like to make a short film.
To that, the handsome heartthrob of Bollywood said: “I would like to make a short film on my grandfather. His life was very entertaining and interesting. I think that would make for a good short film.”
The late Raj Kapoor, one of the country’s most formidable actors and filmmakers of his time, remains alive in people’s hearts with his evergreen films like “Shree 420″, “Mera Naam Joker”, “Anari” and “Barsaat”.
Ranbir is reportedly required to shoot for at least 40-45 days as part of the film called Roy. At the same time, he is supposed to shoot for Jagga Jasoos, hence creating date crunch for the makers.
Roy was earlier delayed due to its main leads – Ranbir and Jacqueline Fernandez’s date problems. Roy also stars Arjun Rampal in a significant role.
Currently, Ranbir is shooting with ex-girlfriend Deepika for the new Imitiaz Ali flick, Tamasha. In the film they are portraying an entirely new role. A leading publication reports that Ranbir will play a nomad who travels around entertaining people and Deepika’s character is an Asterix comic book fan’s delight.
