Aditya Chopra has to delete and tone down some scenes involving girls.

NEW DELHI: The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has raised morality questions on some of the scenes of the YRF Banner Mardaani, starring Rani Mukherjee, slamming rape dialogue in the film.
The board has given the film an ‘A’ certificate, while the team was hoping for a U/A. Says a source to the Pinkvilla, “The censor board members told Mr. Chopra to go to the Revising Committee if he had a problem with the ‘Adults Only’ certificate. But under no circumstance were they willing to grant the film a ‘U/A’ certificate.”
Aditya Chopra has had enough arguments over the rape dialogue where a politician in the film says, ‘Mera Shauk rape hai’. The producer vehemently argued that the dialogue is potential to show the darker side of the human trafficking. But CFBC did not melt a bit and declared the dialogue lewd and Aditya had to give in to the demands of the board eventually.
It was not enough though. The board also objected to some of the scenes that transgressed the limit of symbolism. One of the sequences shows a young girl and blood oozing from her thighs. The three female panelists in the board declared it biologically inaccurate and ordered to scrap it.
Another scene found objectionable is where young girls are brutally hosed down and stripped by the force of water. The Board strictly maintained the decision of deleting the first scene while the latter has been requested to be toned down.
Mardaaniis till date one of the most gritty and brutally raw films to get an ‘A’ certification. It is slated to be released on August 22 and will see Rani Mukherjee’s comeback.
