MUMBAI: The first trailer of Vishal Bhardwaj’s most awaited dark drama Haider is already charming viewers with Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s sparkling chemistry and Tabu’s eye-catching presence.
Add to that the newly released breath taking video of the song “Bismil” and Haider goes right to the top of this year’s most awaited films. Inspired by Shakespeare’s timeless classic, Hamlet, the film runs high on expectations.
Shahid Kapoor will be seen in an entirely different role from his usual fun-loving self. Tabu ,who was last seen in the Oscar winning film ‘Life of Pi’ and ‘Jai Ho’, is now back with a bang as Shahid Kapoor’s step-mom in Haider. Not only this, the fans of Tabu have another surprise as she has also sung a song ‘Roshe Valle’ composed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
Aashiqui 2 star Shraddha will now be seen in the role of a reporter Arshia in the film.
Vishal seems confident of the film’s success and chose to co-produce the movie. Not only this, he has also co-written the script and composed the music for Haider.
The video release of the movie’s first song “Bismil” has managed to impress everyone who watches it. Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is a trained dancer, found it challenging to move in an unusual manner to the tunes of the song “Bismil”.
The actor says it is the best shot song of his career. The song is about love, lust and betrayal. Shahid dances to the lyrics penned by Gulzar and sung by Sukhwinder Singh as Kay Kay Menon, Shraddha Kapoor and Tabu look on.
“It is one of the best shot songs of my career. The location, the elements like face paint to depict war situations, have been used in ‘Bismil’. Then there are 100 feet tall puppets, which I have never seen in any song before,” the 33-year-old said at the music launch of “Haider” in Mumbai on Wednesday.
The song, which was shot at the Sun Temple in Kashmir, showcases the character’s emotional state of mind. The song’s strange and unique dance moves were choreographed by Sudesh, who has previously worked with Vishal Bhardwaj on an opera.
The film hits theaters October 2.
