MUMBAI: The megastar Amitabh Bachchan has just returned from Jaipur where he was accompanied by his granddaughter Aaradhya and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai to cheer for Jaipur Pink Panthers, a Pro Kabaddi League franchise owned by his son Abhishek.
When asked by a leading daily if he is nervous about the new season of KBC even after having done so many seasons in the past he said, “An artist, a creative individual, is always apprehensive. And that’s the way it should be. Nothing and nobody is perfect, but apprehension brings in the endeavour to try to make it so.”
On one the episodes of the show, as the game went on, Amitabh shared with the audience the moment when he proposed to Jaya. He reminisced the time when they both met on a movie set, where initially they were just co-stars but after doing several movies together they became quite close.
Amitabh told her how he had made a resolution that if Zanjeer becomes a hit he will go abroad with Jaya. Luckily, the movie did very well at the box office and he fulfilled his wish of going abroad with Jaya. However, Amitabh’s father had a condition that he can only go if he marries her and hence Amitabh and Jaya were married the next day itself.
Now that the show’s off to a good start with a good reception from his audience, he is ready for another challenge.
“Back to Mumbai… in a couple of hours to face another challenge… the camera for Shoojit’s film,” Amitabh posted on his blog srbachchan.tumblr.com Sunday morning.
The film ‘Piku’ is directed by Shoojit Sircar, who is known for his successes like ‘Madras Cafe’ and ‘Vicky Donor’. ‘Piku’ also stars Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. It will hit the screens April 30, 2015.
It has been a busy year for the 71-year-old Bachchan, who was also part of the TV series “Yudh”. He tweeted on his run with KBC: “Just a couple of days ago, I had the 1000th contestant on the Hot Seat, and was informed that I had conducted 565-plus episodes so far. That’s a lifetime in itself!”
And what a lifetime it’s been, for his fans as well.
The years pass but our favourite hero’s energy never seems to ebb away. With a career spanning four decades, Amitabh Bachchan has worked with the best directors and co-actors in the Indian film fraternity. He’s given many, many hits and has won many, many awards. Here’s wishing him more of the same success for years and decades to come.
