BANGALORE: Xperia series of smartphones from Sony is known for sleek designs and high-quality camera. For all the Xperia lovers in India, the wait for Xperia Z3 will soon come to an end.
Sony is planning to launch Xperia Z3 and its compact version Xperia Z3 Compact sometime in the last week of September in the event that will be held in Delhi, said reports.
The global launch of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact took place at the IFA technology show in Berlin. According to sources Xperia Z3 is the most stylish smartphones from Sony yet and is reported as an eminent threat to Apple iPhone 5s.
Xperia Z3
Xperia Z3 features 5.2-inch display with 1080ppi screen resolution. When compared to Apple iPhone 5S, it is thinner, measuring just .29 inches and weighing only 153 Grams. Xperia Z3 is available in four color variants: white, black, green and copper.
The under-the-hood hardware features of Sony Xperia X3 includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 graphics coupled with a massive 3 GB RAM. The phone sports an internal memory of 16 GB that can be expanded up to 128GB using an external microSD card.
As always the Xperia Z3 runs on Sony’s customized version of Android KitKat which has always given excellent results.
Like its predecessors, Xperia Z3 is a waterproof and dust resistant smartphone. One of the highlighted features of Xperia Z3 is its whopping 20.7 megapixel camera with a 25-millimeter lens that allows users to take wide angle photos. It also has an updated ISO sensor that can render high-quality image even in low light conditions. Sony also boasts about the camera’s capability to record videos in 4K quality. Xperia Z3 also has a 2.2 megapixel front camera.
The connectivity feature of Xperia Z3 is in no way below the standards of Apple iPhone 5S, which has always been criticized for it lacks of connectivity options. Like its contenders in premium smartphone category, Sony Xperia Z3 also has the latest 4G LTE. Other than this Xperia Z3 sports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, A-GPS, including NFC.
Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact have PS4 Remote Play features allowing the user to connect and control games played in Sony PS4 Console.
There is no official announcements regarding the price of Xperia Z3, but when it hits the Indian market the price could be between Rs 52,000 – Rs. 55,000.
Xperia Z3 Compact
Xperia Z3 Compact is the younger brother of Z3 and as the name suggests the phone is compact when it comes to hardware features. Rather than 5.3 inches and full HD display of Z3, Z3 Compact has a 4.6 inch half HD display with 720 p. Even though it has a smaller resolution, with a bright display, it is hard to make out any difference.
When it comes to Z3 Compact, Sony has compromised on its thickness as it has increased to .34 inches from Z3’s .29 inches.
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is powered with the same Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 processor but has a reduced RAM capacity of 2 GB. Xperia Z3 has a slightly smaller 2600mAh battery. But the official page of Xperia Compact promises a full two-day battery backup with Sony’s STAMINA mode on. Even as internal memory of Xperia Z3 Compact remains unchanged the expandable memory slot supports only up to 64 GB microSD cards.
Xperia Z3 Compact is likely to cost somewhere in between Rs 40,000 – Rs. 43,000 when it hits the stores in India.
Both Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact has one-touch connectivity enabled with wearable gadgets from Sony – Sony SmartWear. The Xperia Z3 smartphones will be bundled along with a magnetic flip cover.
