BANGALORE: For all the Motorola lovers in India, a new generation of Moto G smartphones has arrived and will go for sale via Flipkart on September 6 at a price of Rs. 12,999.
The General Manager of Motorola India said in a statement, “we have seen phenomenal success in this market and the response from the consumers has been incredible. We now bring to you, the new Moto G, the next-generation of the most successful smartphone in Motorola’s history.”
Moto G is a dual SIM smartphone with 5 inch 720p display and 1.2 GHZ Snapdragon quad core processor. The phone sports 1 GB RAM and will be available in 8 GB and 16 GB variants globally. But Motorola is not planning to sell the 8 GB version in India.
Motorola has packed Moto G with all features that they can afford to fit inside an affordable smartphone.
The camera department has an 8 megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. The memory of the phone is expandable using a mircoSD card. Moto G is backed by a 2070 MAH battery that can last for a whole day without troubling users.
Moto G has a slightly curved back giving good grip for the users while handling it; also the back cover is coated with water-proof material. Unlike its predecessors, the new Moto G doesn’t give the feeling of a ‘plastic phone.’
A post that appeared in the official Motorola blog read: “With its all-day battery, quad-core speed, the latest Android OS, plus the ability to customize your phone with Motorola Shells, Moto G keeps up with everything you do.”
Motorola is also releasing a series of back covers for Moto G smartphones. But this time users won’t get it free of cost; bundled along with the phone. According to reports, the back cover, Motorola Shell, will be priced at Rs. 800.
The second generation of Moto G is entering the Indian market once again with the hope of writing a success story. However, the new Moto G has improved its specifications and has been priced Rs. 1000 cheaper that the old Moto G.
Moto G will not be available to retail stores in India as Motorola has once again partnered with Flipkart to sell their phone.
