WASHINGTON, DC: The 9th annual Global Healthcare Summit (GHS) 2015, organized by the Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), in collaboration with the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, will be held at the Trident Oberoi Hotel, Mumbai, from January 2-4.
The summit is aimed at advancing the accessibility, affordability and the quality of world-class healthcare to the people of India. Among other areas, the summit will focus on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment options.
Chronic diseases, notably diabetes, cardiovascular, hypertension, COPD, oncology, maternal and infant mortality, and emerging ones – trauma and head injury, transplant and minimally invasive robotic surgeries, are going to be covered during this summit, according to a press release.
An exclusive healthcare CEO forum will bring the healthcare industry perspective, with senior government officials from the center and select states in India, participating and giving inputs. There will be hands-on workshops too.
The summit will also highlight meaningful gains so far in healthcare initiatives in India, and spearhead further efforts through education, training, and panel discussions, said the release. Information will also be disseminated to health officials at the district and taluka levels across India, via streaming live webcast of the proceedings from the GHS venue.
The summit is a progressive transformation from the first Indo-US Healthcare Summit launched by AAPI USA in 2007. Since then, AAPI has organized eight Indo-US/Global Healthcare Summits and developed strategic alliances with various organizations.
