BANGALORE: Google has started taking orders for its new Android Tablet, Nexus 9 via Play Store in the US and the device is expected to reach India by November 12.
According to Play Store, Google is planning to launch the 16 GB WiFi version and 32 GB 4G LTE version of Nexus 9 in India during the second week of November and other models of Nexus 9 will be available for pre-order some time later in the year.
Nexus 9 tablet will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants, but not all versions are available in today’s global launch.
Play Store India has listed the 16 GB edition of Nexus 9 (WiFi) for Rs. 28,900 and the 32 GB Nexus 9 ( 4G LTE) is listed for a price of Rs. 44,900. Both are accompanied with a tag line “Coming Soon”.
The 16GB edition of Nexus 9 costs $399 and the 32GB version $479 in the US.
Nexus 9 has been in tech-talks since Google announced the specifications of its new tablet a few months ago.
Nexus 9 is one of the very few Android Tablets to feature a 4:3 aspect ratio. With whatever we have seen, this hasn’t affected the overall look of the device.
Nexus 9, built by HTC, is a power-packed Android device for avid tablet users, who use it for work or for entertainment.
The soft grip back and subtle curves, makes the tablet one of the most comfortable one to use in the market. HTC has used thin bezels, brushed metal sides, clean lines and unique colours while making the new tablet for Google. These features of the tablet make it sleek and sturdy.
Nexus 9 has an 8.9 inch display, which is not the best for a tablet of its class, but gives the user a good viewing experience while watching videos and during work. One of the highlights of Nexus 9 is its ability to fit into one hand.
HTC has used two layered and distortion-free front-facing BoomSound™ speakers in Nexus 9, producing more immersive stereo sound.
In addition to an 8 MP rear camera the new Nexus device also has a 1.6 MP front facing camera for taking selfies and video conferencing.
The “built by HTC” Google Nexus 9 is powered by a 2.3 GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 CPUcoupled with a 2 GB RAM. The tablet is backed by a 6700mAh battery, which is a perfect blend for a device with not-so-power-hungry specification.
