BENGALURU: India is one of the fastest growing IT hubs in the world and the Indian cities that host IT parks are also developing as people adopt superior lifestyle and infrastructure.
IT has also become one of the decisive revenue generators for Indian economy, with tourism and communication industry following it. Almost all states of India have at least one technology park with state of the art infrastructure facilities.
Here are the five most famous IT parks in India:
Electronic City, Bengaluru: Electronic City hosts the headquarters of Infosys which is one of India’s leading IT companies. Spread across 322 acres of land, Electronic City is divided into three phases. According to latest reports, there are about 187 IT and ITES companies functioning inside Electronic City.
Magarpatta Satellite Township, Pune: Magarpatta Satellite Township in Pune is built over 400 Acres of land. It is an advanced township with residential projects and corporate IT/ITES projects. Magarapatta hosts some of the major IT companies such as iGate, Accenture and iNautix.
HITEC, Hyderabad: HITEC or Hyderabad Information Technology Engineering Consultancy City is located in 151 acres of land under Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur, Manikonda, and Nanakramguda. HITEC City hosts the office of Microsoft and it is the biggest office of the tech giant outside the US. The campus of Microsoft Hyderabad Development centre is spread across 54 acres.
Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram: Technopark located in Kerala’s capital city is India’s largest IT Park considering the built up area. The park was commissioned in 1990 and till 2012, it has 4 million square feet of built area and is host to almost 285 IT/ITES companies. Technopark has a whopping 40,000 professionals walking in and out of it every day. TechnoPark is home to popular IT companies such as Oracle Corporation, Infosys, TCS, ITC and Infotech.
Millennium City IT Park, Kolkata: Millennium City IT Park was a project undertaken by Rungta Group and it inhabits many hi-tech buildings of acclaimed technology companies. This IT park is located in Bidhannagar, which is also known as the Salt Lake City Township as it hosts the City Centre Salt Lake, which is Kolkata’s first integrated and unconventional hangout and shopping centre.
