Multi-lingual typing is a valuable feature for users, especially if they are living in a country like India where people speak multiple languages.
The beta update of SwiftKey Keyboard launched today supports 12 new Indian languages in addition to the existing three. The new languages include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Nepali.
SwiftKey was founded in 2012 by Ben Medlock and Jon Reynolds in London. Their mission was to build a new technology that can make mobile communication easier. SwiftKey Keyboard app became popular as it made typing on touchscreen easier and faster.
In addition to the new language update, SwiftKey has also made improvements in the app by speeding up the launch time and exit time of the keyboard and better responsive typing.
It should be noted that India has the largest smartphone users speaking multiple languages and a majority of them are Android users. The addition of new languages has improved prospects of SwiftKey Keyboard becoming bestseller of 2014.
