BENGALURU: The widely awaited ‘Great Online Shopping Festival’ of Google will kick start at midnight with the launch of Chromecast and the most anticipated smartphone of the year, Google Nexus 6. The announcement came at an event organized by Google in New Delhi today.
The Motorola manufactured Nexus 6 is the latest flagship smartphone of Google and is priced at Rs. 43000 and Rs. 48000 for 32 GB and 64 GB, respectively. The device comes with a 5.96 inch AMOLED touchscreen display and will be available in two color variants: Midnight Blue and Cloud White. The smartphones were listed in Google Playstore on the second week of November with a “Coming Soon” tag.
Nexus 6 was one of the first smartphones to receive the latest Google Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. The device is powered by a 2.7 GHz Quad core processor coupled with a massive 3 GB Ram that boost the speed of the device twice than its earlier version. The Snapdragon 805 processor is also popular for rendering super smooth graphics and its ability to play High Definition video without any hassles.
The new Nexus device also features a 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and dual flash and a 2 MP front camera for video conferencing and for selfies. The smartphone is powered by a 3220 mAh battery that gives optimum power for the device to for a whole day despite heavy gaming and surfing.
The new smartphone also sports all major connectivity features such as Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, NFC, and 4G. One of the main highlights of the Nexus 6 smartphone is its ability to play 4K videos.
One of the major disadvantages of the Nexus 6 is its price; the highest till now for any Nexus device. Priced at Rs 44,000 the new Nexus six seems to be targeting only the creamy layer of the elite smartphone users in India.
Google ahead of this year’s GOSF has introduced a hand full of offers for consumers under the name “Pre-Party” where in the buyer gets a chance to win up to 14 min of free shopping worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs on brands such as Asian Paints, Jet Airways, Kindle, Micromax, HP, Big Bazaar, KOOVs, Lakme and Lenovo.
Google also launched a new section for first-time buyers called the “Rs. 299 Corner” where buyers can find heavily discounted products from brands such as Philips, Uber, JBL, Benetton, Alia Bhatt Collection and EverPure water purifier with COD and free shipping.
