HTC focuses on mid-range smartphone category.

BENGALURU: After the success of 4G LTE Desire 620, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has rolled out the 3G variant of the same dubbed Desire 620 G via Snapdeal for Rs. 15,763 ($249).
HTC had gained reputation in India’s premium smartphone segment and after sensing the growing demand for mid-range smartphones in the country, the company is currently giving their best shot in this segment too.
Desire 620 G was launched last month in Taiwan along with its cousin Desire 620 for TWD 4,990 (roughly $159) and TWD 6,990 (roughly $223), respectively. Other than the faster 4G LTE connectivity feature and the 64 bit Snapdragon processor offered in Desire 620, both devices share similar looks and technical specifications.
Desire 620 G like all other HTC flagship smartphones released recently has dual front-facing speakers, which has now become a USP of HTC devices.
Device is powered by 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor coupled with 1 GB RAM, delivering average graphics performance. It runs on the previous version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat mobile operating system out-of-the-box.
Coming to the camera department of the new Desire 620 G, HTC has used an 8 MP rear camera with flash and a 5 MP front camera with BSI sensor.
The new HTC smartphone has an inbuilt storage capacity of 8 GB expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card. It also has a 2100 mAh removable battery, which is a below the current standards.
The new desire smartphone measures 150.1×72.7×9.6mm and weighs 160 grams.
The phone also feature all general connectivity features such as micro-dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS and GPRS/ EDGE.
