BENGALURU: Lenovo unveiled the low-budget 4G phone A6000 at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2015.
Lenovo A6000 is expected to go on sale in India starting from next week via online retailer Flipkart. The device that comes with the tagline the ‘cheapest 4G mobile in India’ is likely to be priced below Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, which are currently priced at Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 9,999, respectively.
As of now Yu Yureka is the most affordable Android 4G smartphone in India and the initial sale of the device is scheduled to begin on January 13 at 2 PM via Amazon India. It features a bit 64Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with 2 GB RAM.
On the other hand, Lumia 638 is the cheapest 4G smartphone in non-Android segment and is currently priced at Rs. 8,299.
Lenovo will be hoping to launch their new device below these price tags, so one can expect the device to be priced below Rs. 8000 mark.
Lenovo A6000 features a 5.5 inch touchscreen display and the device is powered by a 4G LTE enabled 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 1GB RAM.
Lenovo’s cheapest 4G phone also sports Dolby surround dual stereo speakers and an 8 GB internal storage, expandable to 32 GB using MicroSD card.
The camera department of the new A6000 has an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, and a 2 MP front camera for selfies and video conferencing. The device is backed by a 2,300 mAh battery. Compared to the other devices in mentioned above, the new Lenovo A6000 is the slimmest smartphone with just 8.2mm thickness and weighs 128 grams.
The new Lenovo device, like its predecessors, runs on Lenovo’s Vibe 2.0 user interface on top of Android KitKat 4.4.4.
There was no official word from Lenovo about Flipkart being the carrier of A6000 in India, but the presence of Flipkart Vice President Michael Adnani during the launch event exposes the intention of the Chinese manufacturer.
