Will launch 4G-enabled Octa-core smartphone in April.

BENGALURU: Indian smartphone manufacturer Celkon Mobiles today launched a new device in the market called Millennia Octa 510, priced at Rs. 8,999 ($145).
Like the name suggests, the new Celkon smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The launch of Millennia Octa 510 is significant because it is the first ever Octa-core smartphone manufactured by Celkon.
The latest dual SIM smartphone from the house of Celkon has a 5-inch HD IPS OGS display and runs on Android KitKat out-of-the-box.
Millennia Octa 510 has an 8MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash, adding to this it also has a 3.2MP front camera for selfie enthusiasts.
The device supports all general connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, OTG and GPS. Octa 510 also has an additional connectivity feature called Hotknot data transfer allowing users to transfer data between two devices faster and easier.
Celkon has also enabled gesture recognition system in Millennia Octa 510510 that allows users to unlock the device, open and close camera app, play music and videos, and a hand full of other options.
Celkon executive director Murali Retineni revealed the company’s plan to come out with a 4G-enabled Octa-core smartphone by the end of April this year. He also added that Celkon is in search of a suitable location in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for setting up a manufacturing unit that can produce up to 100,000 smartphones per day. But he declined from giving any dates regarding the completion of this project.
