BENGALURU: HTC has been out of the radar for quite some time and little was known about a new smartphone that was taking shape in its warehouse. The company has started the promotional work for the next flagship device, which is due to launch during the Mobile World Conference on March 1 in Barcelona.
Business and financial market website Bloomberg has come up with more details about the device. As per the report the yet to be launched smartphone is codenamed as M9 and is expected to release by the name HTC One M9.
If the report is taken for face value HTC has not bothered to alter its design much, probably due to the kind of response that it received for the sleek deign of HTC One M8, which had dual frontal stereo speakers. The device will be made available in gold, gray, and silver colors.
Going by the report, HTC has done a major under-the-hood overhaul for the upcoming device when compared to its predecessors. HTC is making a leap from its Ultrapixel 13 MP camera, which according to the company produced better quality images than many higher MP cameras, to a much bigger Ultrapixel 20MP rear camera. The front camera is reportedly of a higher MP that can provide better selfie experience during low light shooting.
Coming to the cardinal department of the smartphone, which is the processor, HTC is said to have used the latest 64 bit Snapdragon 810 Octa-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM.
HTC has no intentions to compromise on the sound quality of their devices as they have used speakers with Dolby 5.1 audio technology, said the report.
Bloomberg also reports that a Smartwatch is also getting ready inside the warehouse of HTC to be released in March but, as of now the information about this new wearable gadget is slender. However, the wearable device has already got enough attention of sports companies, accessories companies as we saw some of them entering partnership with HTC during the CES 2015 early this month.
If things go well for the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, the release of HTC One M9 flagship smartphone could help the company come out of the lean three-year in sales.
