WASHINGTON, DC: Firstsource Solutions, a company based out of Mumbai plans to open a brand new call center in Oregon next month.
The new office in the city of Eugene would provide employment for 350 people or more. According to Eugene’s local newspaper, the Register-Guard, Firstsource is already seeking new employees. The paper uncovered listings for call center supervisors, customer service representatives, training managers, IT engineers, and others.
“At some point they think they could grow to around 700 [employees],” stated John Lively, a state lawmaker from Springfield, Oregon.
For the most part, call centers typically tend to escalate their employment rate by hiring several dozen workers each month, so Lively’s figure would not seem out of the question.
City and economic development officials previously had discussed the call center plan but declined to name the company, meaning Firstsource’s job postings are the first time its identity has been made public.
