Infosys plans to integrate Panaya’s CloudQuality automation.

WASHINGTON, DC: Infosys, the Bengaluru-based multinational provider of consulting and information technology services, announced it will acquire enterprise resource planning (ERP) software outfit Panaya in a deal worth $200 million.
When the acquisition is completed in March, Infosys plans to integrate Panaya’s CloudQuality automation into its own software.
Panaya describes its CloudQuality suite as a “big data analytics” aggregator that delivers insights telling users “what will break, how to fix it and what to test.” The soon-to-be amalgamated company also attests the suite is already utilized within 1,220 companies throughout 62 countries, including one third of the Fortune 500 list.
According to startup dataset consolidator CrunchBase, Panaya has received $59 million in funding. Its final round, a Series E of $20 million, was disclosed in January.
Chief executive Vishal Sikka said in a statement, “The acquisition of Panaya is a key step in renewing and differentiating our service lines. This will help amplify the potential of our people, freeing us from the drudgery of many repetitive tasks, so we may focus more on the important, strategic challenges faced by our clients. At the same time, Panaya’s proven technology helps dramatically simplify the costs and complexities faced by businesses in managing their enterprise application landscapes.”
Infosys is currently in the process of overhauling its strategic outlook as it tackles challenges on multiple fronts including slowing revenue growth and the departure of several high-level executives. The company has also courted controversy while addressing a lawsuit filed by former U.S. employees alleging they were discriminated against due to their inability to speak Hindi.
