BENGALURU: Some legends continue to inspire generations even after passing away. Such is the life of Steve Jobs, who left behind a legacy of success through sheer determination and passion, making him one of the most written about technocrats in the world.
According to a new report, a yet to be released biography of Steve Jobs titled “Becoming Steve Jobs: The Evolution of a Reckless Upstart into a Visionary Leader”, by Brent Schlender and Reck Tetzeli, has chapters that might reveal more about the personal life of co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple, that to date has been kept as a secret.
The upcoming biography of Jobs, scheduled for release on March 24 had earlier put a few pages up on Amazon as a preview, but was soon withdrawn, to tweak suspense.
Luke Dormehl, who has authored many books on Apple and its revolution, wrote in Cult of Mac website, “From what I’ve seen, some of the stories are pretty sensational – providing new details into the close relationship between Jobs and Cook, revealing Jobs’ secret plan to buy Yahoo!, and much more.”
The new book about Steve Jobs unfolds his iconic life through personal interviews with colleague’s family and friends of the late Apple CEO. Tim Cook, Jony Ive, Eddy Cue, Pixar’s John Lasseter, Disney CEO Bob Iger and Jobs’ widow, Laurene Powell Jobs all have shared their good and bad experiences with Jobs who always maintained a tinge of eccentricity in whatever he indulged in.
One of the highlighted revelations in the new book is about Apple’s current CEO, Tim Cook, offering a portion of his liver to ailing Jobs after coming to know that he is in search of a donor. Though both of them shared the same rare blood group, Job turned downed the offer, probably because he knew Tim will take after him in Apple.
Published by Hodder and Stoughton, the book is currently available for pre-order via Amazon. The excerpt of the book says, “The most intimate biography yet of Jobs, written by the journalist who knew him better than any other, Becoming Steve Jobs draws on recently discovered interviews that have never before seen the light of day and answers for the first time the most pressing questions about what made this legendary business leader such a success.”
