BENGALURU: Indian stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma, who refused an offer to make his acting debut with Yashraj Films’ ‘Bank Chor’, is recording his maiden song for a Bollywood film.
Sharma, who currently anchors the comedy show titled “Comedy Nights with Kapil” has displayed his talent in singing during many occasions, but, this is the first time that the Amritsar-born king of Indian stand-up comedy will officially do playback singing.
The 33-year-old Sharma is making his singing debut with the famous Punjabi singer Dr. Zeus. The confirmation from Sharma came in the form of a tweet that read, “Recording my first song for Bollywood with the one and only @drzeusworld hope you all will like it.. Bum bum bum.”
Sharma is also set to make his acting debut with the film “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu”, directed by Abbas and Mustan Burmawalla. The shooting is currently progressing and it is expected to hit theater screens by the end of the year. Sharma will appear in the lead role, which for obvious reasons, is a comedy entertainer.
Sharma’s comedy show on Colors TV “Comedy Nights with Kapil” has already become India’s highest rated scripted TV show.
