WASHINGTON, DC: Vishweshwar Reddy Bethi, a graduate student at Southern Arkansas University, was found dead on Thursday, April 23, in Buffalo National River Park, Arkansas.
Bethi is the only son of Mahendar Reddy Bethi and hails from the village of Manorabad in Telangala, Andhra Pradesh, India. He came to the United States in 2013 to earn an M.S. degree.
Details of the death are yet to be ascertained.
The American Telugu Association, which is leading and coordinating the efforts of sending the body home to his family in India, said on its Facebook page “Authorities are suspecting that he committed suicide.”
A post by ATA President Sudhakar Perkari said “Vishweshwar came from a poor family and his parents cannot afford for his body to be sent back to India” and “[we] request all to contribute to the Emergency Fund for Vishweshwar Reddy, in order to facilitate necessary arrangements for his body to be sent to India to his family.”
