Select Indian Americans commit to adopt 2,000 Andhra Pradesh villages.

DALLAS, TEXAS: Telugu Desam Party leader Nara Lokesh, who is on a 10-day visit to the United States, met President Barack Obama and a number of US and Indian American leaders.
“Pleasure meeting @barackobama,” Lokesh tweeted after the meeting on May 7. “Explained the smart city project and also AP being the investments destination.”
One of the goals of his visit is to encourage members of the Telugu community in the United States to adopt smart villages in Andhra Pradesh.
“[Obama] conveyed his regards to our CM and mentioned the amazing work CM is doing,” Lokesh, son of Andhra Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu added.

Other leaders he met include Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets Arun Kumar and Texas Secretary of State Carlos Cascos.
Lokesh also held meetings with tech leader and philanthropist Vinod Khosla, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka, and Pradeep Sindhu, co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of Juniper Networks.
The TDP leader arrived in San Francisco on May 3. So far he has visited, besides the Bay Area, Los Angeles, the New York-New Jersey tristate area and Texas. He received warm receptions from local Telugu communities in all these areas.
According to Lokesh’s Twitter feeds, he received commitment to adopt more than 2,000 smart villages from members of the Indian American community in Los Angeles, San Jose, New Jersey, Dallas and Washington, DC.
