BENGALURU: Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax has launched the company’s latest flagship smartphone Canvas Knight 2 with 4G support. Canvas Knight 2 is an upgraded version of the company’s earlier device Canvas Knight, which was popular in the Indian smartphone market.
Canvas Knight 2 is a 5-inch smartphone with AMOLED display featuring 720p resolution. The device is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Coming to the camera department of the new Canvas Knight 2, Micromax has assembled a 13 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash in the rear and a 5 MP selfie camera.
Unlike some of the other Micromax devices which are unimpressive when it comes to the camera performance, the first generation of Canvas Knight is an exception. Hopefully, Micromax has upgraded the quality of the camera in the second generation of its flagship device.
Coming to the performance part of the latest Canvas Knight 2, the company has used 1.5 GHz octa core Snapdragon 615 processor, which boasts of 4G support and optimized battery usage, coupled with 2GB RAM. The device also has 16 GB internal storage capacity, expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card. It also has a slew of connectivity options including WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and above all 4G. The device is powered by a 2,260 mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
Looking at the specifications of the device, Canvas Knight 2 looks like a close cousin of Yureka, which is the maiden smartphone of its subsidiary company Yu. One of the major differences of both these devices is in the pricing. Micromax has priced Canvas Knight 2 for Rs 16,299, whereas Yu, an online brand, sold Yureka for mere Rs. 8,999.
