BENGALURU: Acclaimed Telugu director SS Rajamouli’s yet to be released big budget movie Baahubali, touted as the most expensive one ever made in India, has already attracted the attention of over 10 million viewers through its YouTube trailer.
The announcement about the extravagant achievement of the most awaited movie of the year came through the official twitter account of Baahubali. The tweet read “The #Baahubali trailer has over 1 Crore (10 million) views across the internet. Thank you for the tremendous response and love!!!”
Since the launch of the trailer a week ago, there has been tremendous response from the people who took the time to watch and later share the video via different social media. Baahubali, which is shot in Telugu and Tamil, will also get released, dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam and in several other foreign languages.
The movie stars Prabhas as Sivudu and Baahubali, Rana Daggubati as Bhallaladeva, Anushka Shetty as Devasena, Tamannaah as Avanthika with Ramya Krishna, Nasser, Sathyaraj, Kiccha Sudeepa, Adivi Sesh, Rakesh Varre, Meka Ramakrishna.
One of the reasons for the overwhelming response to Baahubali trailer is the success of Rajamouli’s movies in the past years. His 2009 movie Magadhera and Eega released in 2012 were a huge success, and his reputation has reached beyond the Telugu industry.
The crew of Bahubai have been in the creative process since the past three years and according to the actors the VFX technology used in the historic movie, like in other Rajamouli films, will be the biggest highlight.
Anushka Shetty, who plays a prominent role in the movie, was quoted by IANS saying she did the action sequences in the movie without the help of a dupe as Rajamouli was very concerned about the authenticity of each scene in the movie.
Rajamouli was quoted by The Indian Express saying “All my childhood, I was living on those comics (Amar Chitra Katha). Some years ago, I bought all 400 titles of Amar Chitra Katha. As I was going through them, I was shocked to find that many of the emotions and incidents in my films have been inspired by those books,”
If everything goes as planned the fans of Baahubali could see the historic movie hitting the screens across India on July 10th. In the meanwhile, the audio launch of Baahubali scheduled for this Wednesday at Ramoji Film City has been postponed due to security issues. There are unconfirmed reports that the audio launch will be held in Tirupati on June 13.
