Part of new set of HealthKit features.

WASHINGTON, DC: Get ready to get a little more intimate with your iPhone this autumn, because when iOS 9 drops, any user of Apple’s ubiquitous smartphone will be able to track their reproductive health down to how often they’ve had sex and whether or not they used protection.
As part of new set of HealthKit features, Apple has added an option for “Sexual Activity” during its World Wide Developers Conference on Monday.
Like the rest of the health tracking features — which cover menstrual cycles, body temperature, cervical mucus quality, and spotting, according to The Independent — users will then be able to see that data represented on a graph or in a numerical read-out. They can share that information with other apps, but CNN Money noted that Apple is emphasizing that it will be kept private unless users opt to share it.
When Apple launched its Health app last year, it claimed it would provide users a complete picture of their health. However, despite the plethora of features it admittedly contained, the app drew significant criticism for what it didn’t track, which included a woman’s period, leading many to declare it had a “lady problem,” according to the New York Post.
Apple’s latest move appears to be a direct response to critics who accused the tech titan of ignoring an entire gender. By making more of an effort to develop software for female users — an area it had previously overlooked — the company hopes it can erase some of the negative publicity it has received in regards to its product design for women.
