Director elusive about his character role.

There are directors like Subhash Ghai who like to appear in their own films. It seems like Prakash Jha is about to do the same in his upcoming movie ‘Jai Gangaajal’ starring Priyanka Chopra, in which he will portray the role of a police subordinate.
Jha was quoted by IANS saying, “I have done a role in the film. It’s the role of a cop. In the film, I’m one of Priyanka’s subordinates.”
There were rumors about Jha acting but it was not clear in which role. Some speculated that he will appear in a negative role but it seems like the director wants to make his acting debut in a positive role, fighting the law breakers.
While speaking, Jha eluded from answering questions regarding his character and wrapped important details about the movie, which will have the Quantico actress appearing in the lead role.
“You can decide that when you see the film and take a call on that,” he said.
According to sources close to the film, “Jai Gangaajal” will be a story of an IPS officer who is on a mission to take down powerful and influential people in her district.
The tagline “The End Game” befits the looks of the actress in the poster. It’s likely the movie might have a similar storyline as the 2003 Ajay Devgn prequel, which was based on rooting out corruption.
Prakash Jha last week told CNN-IBN, “When I made Gangaajal 13 years ago, the dictum was that every society gets police that it deserves. But the scenario has changed since then. Today the cops follow the dictum of inaction is virtue and efficiency is crime.”
Written, directed and produced by Prakash Jha, “Jai GangaaJal” is scheduled to release in theatres on March 4th, 2016.
