Grab your camera and film your day – Google brings an opportunity for Indians to capture a slice of their life that could end up on big screen.
The project ‘India in a Day’ invited anyone with a camera or a phone to film their everyday happenings on 10th of October and upload the footage to Indiainaday.withgoogle.com.
The project aims to determine what and how much has changed in India, via a short crowd-sourced documentary film called ‘India in a Day’.
Google is teaming up with reputed British film maker Ridley Scott, Canadian film director Richie Mehta and Bollywood film maker Anurag Kashyap for the crowd sourced documentary.
While the movie would be directed by Richie Mehta, Anurag Kashyap and Ridley Scott would be the executive producers. Zoya Akhtar, Shekhar Kapoor and R. Balki would be the creative consultants of this project.
The project will accept footage shot on any device including mobile phones. People can film themselves, their family, their friends or even strangers. Only thing is to make sure to get permission for shooting anyone, by having them sign an appearance release form which can be downloaded from the project’s website, Indiainaday.withgoogle.com.
The film is scheduled for release in 2016. Contributors will be listed as “co-directors,” according to a statement from Google Inc.
“We want to tell the story of India in a single day, and we want you to help. You can grab your camera and capture anything and everything around you. Film anything,” Anurag Kashyap said while describing the project.
“But most of all make it personal. Make it your point of view. Tell us what you love, what you hate, what worries you, what you hope for, what you want to change,” he added.
