The body of missing Indian American IT professional was found in Lake Dell Valle, just outside Livermore, on Wednesday.
Raghavendra Raghu Indugula (31), an operations specialist contractor at Salesforce.com, went missing during an excursion with co-workers to the lake on October 2.
According to Business Insider’s report, eight members were reportedly the last group to be returning from an offsite at the Hetch Hetchy campground in Del Valle Regional Park. When the boat capsized, everyone on board managed to swim ashore but they later realised that Indugula was missing.
Police and authorities were searching for Indugula after the boat accident. Finally, a fisherman spotted his body floating in the lake Wednesday morning. The Almeda county coroner’s bureau confirmed that the body belonged to Indugula.
“The Salesforce employees were not wearing lifejackets on the boat when it started taking on water” Carolyn Jones, an East Bay regional park district spokeswomen, was quoted as saying. “Their offsite at Hetch Hetchy was also not reserved through the parks service, which had closed reservations to the campground after a water main broke.” Jones added.
Salesforce issued a statement by saying “our thoughts and prayers are with Raghu’s family and friends during this difficult time”.
Indugula moved to the US three years ago. He has been a digital marketing operations specialist with Salesforce since April 2015. Before that, he was an operations engineer with Cox communications Atlanta for two years. He was a graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad and worked for DevMode IT solutions in India, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Indugula is survived by his wife and one-year-old daughter.
