In a shocking incident, an employee of Bangalore Electricity supply company Ltd in Bangalore received a scary gift at his Crescent Road office on October 13.
The gift Angelio Keith D’Silva received as a courier parcel was a green snake, sent by the jealous husband of one of his female colleagues.
The 40-year-old man who works at Bescom’s vigilance department said that the box also contained a letter in Kannada, which warned him of dire consequences if he did not keep away from the latter’s wife, who is a clerk at the BESCOM.
Earlier thought as an act by some frustrated customer who reacted to the ongoing power-cuts by the company, the weird gift later was proved to be an act of an envious husband.

After opening the parcel box, which had holes for the snake to breathe, D’Silva found the viper sleeping. He took a few snaps before throwing the snake away.
A 48-year-old man named Shivaprasad from Tumkur was found to have sent this parcel. Police have lodged a non-cognisable offence against him and are further investigating the case.
