Top 5 most viewed Bollywood songs on YouTube in 2015

The year 2015 has been exciting for music lovers as many Bollywood films came with heart-warming songs that are sure to stay for a long time.

Some of these songs became an instant hit on YouTube even before the release of the movies, earning the record number of views.

Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan

‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ from the movie “Roy”,  sung by Kanika Kapoor, who won this year’s Star Guild Award for Best Female Playback Singer award for the song, is on the top of the list with 61,874,467 views. “Roy”, Directed by Vikramjit Singh was produced by Divya Khosla Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar and co-Produced by Ajay Kapoor. The movie starred Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Samjhawan unplugged

The second song to make to the top of the most watched Bollywood song of 2015 is ‘Samjhawan unplugged’ from the movie ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. The song sung by Alia Bhatt became an overnight hit not only because of the soul touching lyrics but also because of the video that has a few intimate scenes of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The Song has till now received 49,692,609 views and counting.  The songs in Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ were directed by Sachin-Jigar and Sharib-Toshi.

Afghan Jalebi

‘Afghan Jalebi’, the fast number from the not-so-successful movie, Phantom, starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, has somehow managed to take the third position in the most viewed Bollywood songs of 2015. The song was sung by Asrar and directed by Pritam. The movie, based on the on the aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, was directed by Kabir Khan. The song ‘Afghan Jalebi’ has till now received 42,496,630 views on YouTube.

Main Hoon Hero Tera

Salman Khan has been in the news the whole year both for good and bad reasons. It seems like the actor has also made it to the hit chart in YouTube as his song ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ from the movie ‘Hero’ featuring Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, made it to the fourth place in the list of most viewed Bollywood songs of 2015.

‘Hero’ starring Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in lead roles was directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Salman himself. Nevertheless, the movie was a flop and has received below average rating. ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ has till now received 40,566,749 YouTube views.

Gerua

The year cannot end without a super hit song from a Shah Rukh Khan movie, and that has been the cult ever since the actor became the King of Bollywood. This year’s most awaited release, ‘Dilwale’, starring evergreen pair Kajol and Shah Rukh got released recently and the song ‘Gerua’ which shows the magical chemistry between Khan and Kajol has made it to the top five list of most watched Bollywood songs of 2015. “Gerua” was the first song from the movie “Dilwale” to hit YouTube and till now has got 35,536,904 views.
