The adventurous life of Mowgli is back again to entertain the world. Jon Favreau’s upcoming movie ‘The Jungle Book’ tells the story of Mowgli, a small boy who was raised by wolves in a forest in India.
The trailer of the film, which is scheduled to release on April 15, was released on Sundayduring the Super Bowl broadcast.
The trailer gives glimpses of Sethi in his role of Mowgli running for his life while surviving among various species of animals in a jungle.
While Mowgli is protected by the black panther Bagheera and Baloo the bear, he has to encounter with the tiger Sher Khan and the story is about his adventurous journey of self-discovery and self-protection.
The film is the new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic work “The Jungle Book”.
The voice of the characters is cast by eminent actors, including Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Bill Murray as Baloo, Idris Elba as Sher Khan, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa and Christopher Walken as King Louie.
Neel Sethi, the 10-year-old Indian American, is playing the role of Mowgli. Sethi, who has never acted in a movie before, is the only actor seen on-screen in the trailer.
All of the animals that he interacts with are created via Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI), similar to the work that actor Suraj Sharma did in the 2011 film ‘Life of Pi’.
The search to find Sethi, who is from New York, was an extensive one, with thousands of young boys auditioning from the US, UK, Canada, and New Zealand.
