Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the political party founded by Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been recently accused of bringing back “jungle raj” in the state of Bihar as a total 578 murders reportedly happen within the last two months after the assembly election results declared RJD as the largest party in the state.
Now, the RJD has now found itself in a murky puddle after the Nalanda police arrested a woman for forcing a schoolgirl to have sex with an RJD MLA.
According to the reports coming from local media, the police have arrested the key accused Sulekha Devi for having forced the schoolgirl to have sex with RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav on February 6.
Nalanda SP Kumar Ashish said that they have also arrested the mother of the accused Radha Devi, daughter Chhoti Kumari, younger sister Tulsi Devi and a male Moti Ram, who helped the accused to evade the police.
He also added “They were caught from Khaddi village under the Hilsa police station area of the district.”
Kumar was appointed as the new SP of Nalanda just two days back, this after complaints rose from different quarters about the inefficiency of the police in nabbing the culprits.
Nalanda SP also said Nawada MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav, will be arrested soon.
Kumar added that the arrested accused has confessed her role in the rape and her statement falls in line with the statement provided by the victim.
Commenting on the missing of the MLA, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on February 15 “Where will the accused MLA flee and for how long?”
In the meanwhile, RJD has suspended the MLA with immediate effect and the district court has cancelled the MLA’s anticipatory bail plea. On Monday the court gave a 30-day ultimatum for him to surrender and directed the police to attach his properties if he fails to do so within the stipulated time.
Kumar added that the arrested accused has confessed her role in the rape and her statement falls in line with the statement provided by the victim.
