Superstar Rajinikanth, who mesmerized the global audience with his unique style of acting, will now be seen in a new real life avatar: a cricket player.
Rajinikanth, along with Kamal Haasan and 50 other actors, will participate in the Super Six Star Cricket to be conducted by the South Indian Film Artistes Association (Nadigar Sangam)
The South Indian Film Artistes Association president Nassar said that the match will be held at M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 17.
“It is going to be a very big event in the film industry, as we have invited leading south Indian Bollywood actors. Several actors including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, have confirmed their participation in the event” Nassar said, on Wednesday.
The cricket match is being conducted by the association to raise funds to construct a building in Chennai.
Nassar made the surprise revelation when he visited Chennai city police commissioner TK Rajendran to get security permission for the event, along with actor Ramana.
“We are planning to conduct the six-over match right from morning to night,” said Ramana.
Seven teams will participate in the matches.
