The Chinese electronic giant Xiaomi has announced the launch of its first curved television powered by Android OS named Mi TV 3S, featuring a 4K 65-inch display.
According to the company, the 4K TV sports a curved Samsung display that touts superior optics with razor thin 5.9 mm screen.
The yet to be launched Mi TV 3S will cost $1,385, making it one of the most affordable 4K curved display solution ever.
The new Mi TV 3S features a metal frame and will be available in two different sizes – 65 inches and 43 inches, but the smaller TV doesn’t have a 4K display but is Full HD. The 43-inch TV, unlike its bigger variant is flat and costs just $275 dollars.
For now, the TVs will be only available in the US market and in a few months will be made available in countries including the US and India, where Xiaomi has a strong user base.
The Mi TV 3S runs on Android OS on top of MIUI custom interface and is powered by Mstar 6A908 TV processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage.
The TV sports Doldy and DTS audio decoding and the TV will have the Mi TV Bar thrown in for good measure. It adds a six-piece sound system to this already impressive boob tube.
Xiaomi, which is the biggest smartphone seller in China had earlier this month launched its latest flagship smartphone Mi 5 for $305. The phone is available only in Chinese market.
