Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actor Priyanka Chopra and tennis player Sania Mirza are among the probable competitors for Time magazine’s annual list of the most influential people in the world, reported Press Trust of India.
Readers can also cast their vote to select the most influential persons in politics, science and technology, arts and other areas.
The list will be published next month. Before that readers can select their favorite persons from among the list of 127.
Time said, “Modi remains a powerful voice on the world stage.” Though his political agenda was sidelined in India, the country still remains as the fastest economy in the world.
About Sania Mirza, Time said that she secured the first position for women’s doubles “while helping to redefine the role of female athletes in her home country.”
Priyanka Chopra is considered as promising a new Hollywood entrant from Bollywood. She has “caught Hollywood’s attention” for her role in Quantico and “will continue to do so in the Baywatch remake,” Time said.
Indian American CEOs of Microsoft and Google, Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella, respectively, have also found a place on the probable list.
