The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has unveiled its latest flagship device, HTC 10 – a 2K display smartphone that features an aluminium uni-body design. The smartphone is currently available for pre-order in the US for $699.
The HTC 10 is the company’s new hope for revival as they have been struggling to keep pace with the growing competition put in by opponents from China and South Korea.
The new HTC flagship device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. One of the main highlights of the device is HTC’s new updated BoomSound Technology. The smartphone also features Dolby Surround Sound and the top notch Digital Audio Converter.
The company has also launched a lifestyle version of the new HTC 10 which will be powered by Snapdragon 652 processor.
Coming to the other technical specifications of the new HTC 10, the Taiwanese manufacturer has embedded a 5.2-inch 2K display along with a 4GB Ram to support the Snapdragon 820 processor which has a clock speed of 2.2 Ghz.
Adding to this HTC 10 also has an internal storage capacity of 32 GB in addition to the 2 TB expandable storage that HTC boast its external micro-SD slot can support.
The 12 MP rear camera of the new HTC 10 features Untrapexel Technology, that promises high-quality photos even when zoomed. The company has also used the Optical Image Stabilization technology in the rear and front cameras.
The rear camera support shooting videos in 4K quality and it comes with a f/1.8 aperture and in addition to this the smartphone also has a 5 MP front camera.
The device runs Android 6 Marshmallow above HTC Sense, which has a very striking similarity to stock android. HTC claims that there is no duplication of apps.
HTC 10 is backed up by a powerful 3000 mAh battery that can give talk time of up to 27 hours. The device also supports the quick charge technology that can boost the charge to 50% within 30 minutes. HTC 10 also support USB Type-C charging.
Coming to the connectivity part of the device, HTC has enabled Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 & 5 GHz) support for Chromecast, AirPlay, and Miracast to its latest flagship device. The smartphone also features a fingerprint sensor on the home button.
