A Spanish company has come up with a mattress that helps the owner know whether their partner is cheating on them when they leave home.
The “Smarttress” manufactured by Durmet — a Spanish mattress company has sensors connected to the mattress that detects unusual and suspicious movements in the bed and informs the buyer about it.
The company has carried out a detailed research on sexual motions and if the motions in the bed match the same, the buyer will get an alert message. The mattress is fitted with 24 ultrasonic sensors that can identify the suspicious movement.
“If your partner isn’t faithful, then at least your mattress will be,” is the slogan used by the company to market the mattress.
The buyer has to install an app on their mobile phone to get updates. The app can trace motion statistics including speed, intensity, and impact. The best part is that the buyer can view a 3D map of the mattress that shows which part of the mattress is moving and how it moves.
Some surveys have pointed out that Spaniards are one of the most unfaithful lovers in the world. Extramarital affairs website Ashley Madison has once revealed that Spaniard men have an average of 2.4 secret affairs each year, compared with 1.3 for women.
“Seeing the latest research on infidelity in Spain and considering that 94 per cent of Spaniards’ preferred place for love-making was in their own home, we thought we could give peace of mind to men and women, not only at night, but also during the day when they have to go out to work,” company spokesman José Antonio Muiño told The Telegraph.
