Avarude Ravukal is the debut production venture of Ajay Krishnan

Ajay Krishnan, the producer of upcoming Malayalam movie ‘Avarude Ravukal’ was found dead at his home in Kollam, Kerala on Sunday. The 29-year-old actor was found hanging in his bedroom.
According to a report in The New Indian Express, Krishnan committed suicide after watching the preview of his debut production venture.
The report quoted a police officer as saying, “he was concerned over the success of the film at the box office. He had also shared his concern with his parents. It seems that the film cost him Rs 4 crore and he was facing financial crisis. This might have forced him to take the extreme step.”
Krishnan’s parents Radhakrishna Pillai and Jayakumari were present at the home when he committed suicide. The director has played some minor roles in some Malayalam movies including ‘Memories,’ ‘Scene onnu: Nammude veedu,’ (Scene one: Our home), and in some television serials.
Krishnan had invested as much as $588235 in the movie and he was under financial crisis as the movie was nearing its release date. It is also reported that the director was concerned about the success of his film.
A report in Manorama online quoted the director of the movie Shanil Muhammed denying the news that the director committed suicide because of the concern about the film. Muhammed said that he didn’t know about the financial crisis of Krishnan.
The post-production works of the movie ‘Avarude Ravukal’ starring Asif Ali, Unni Mukundan, Aju Varghese, Vinay Fort, Honey Rose, and Lena, are underway.
Krishnan’s body was handed over to the family after conducting a post-mortem.
