A three-year-old girl’s top half of thumb on the right hand has been amputated due to the negligence of a daycare authorities in Gurgaon, Haryana, alleges her mother. The mother of the child, Shivani P. Sharma, posted the incident on Facebook, on Sunday.
According to the Facebook post, Shivani dropped her three-year-old daughter Myra on April 28 at Cherub Angels daycare in Gurgaon, Haryana. When she reached her office, she got a call from the school that there is an emergency and her daughter had hit her right thumb.
“I rushed to Artemis Hospital Gurgaon, at 1:30 PM when I reached Artemis hospital emergency that she had thumb amputation means her top half part of the thumb has been crushed and cut apart. I was told that another kid Kartik pushed door close and her finger came inside,†she said on the Facebook post.
Though she tried for other options, the specialist doctors advised amputation. She alleged that Archana Benjiwal, the owner of the daycare had offered to pay all the medical expenses of her daughter as the accident happened due to her negligence.
But Benjiwal backed off from the promise and she and her husband threatened them to do anything as they like.
“But the real face of Archana and Prashant came to picture only after a day of this incident. Her husband came to our house on May 1 apologizing and saying that they will completely bear the expense of all treatments as it is their mistake. But since then we have not seen nor heard back from them,†Shivani wrote.
“On May 6, when we called them her husband threatened us by saying that don’t come to our house and we can do anything and contact police. These people are so heartless and professional that they are not even scared of god, Law and society,†she said.
The Facebook post has gone viral and more than 11,000 people have shared the same on Facebook till Tuesday. Shivani P. Sharma has filed a complaint against the daycare owners for their negligence.
