Amul shows it has not lost its sense of humor, in India.

India’s favorite dairy brand Amul has always shown how brilliantly one can take a stand on everyday issues and politics, with its advertising.
This time, the company has come up with a cartoon on the controversy centered on the video made by stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhat mocking cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and singer Lata Mangeshkar.
Bhat had attracted criticism after he released a video on Snapchat where he used abusive words against Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar, using the face swap feature.
Celebrities including actors Anupam Kher, Riteish Deshmukh and Censor Board Chief Pehlaj Nihalani had lashed out at Bhat for his remarks on the two legends.
At the same time, he got support from actors like Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, author Chetan Bhagat and many other stand-up comedians.
While the nation is strongly divided on the issue, as usual, Amul has come up with a cartoon that intelligently portrays the heating discussions on the issue.
The cartoon titled “Joke se jokhim tak” features Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar and the Amul girl who is sitting in between Tendulkar and Mangeshkar having bread with butter.
The title itself says that how a joke has turned out to be a risky affair with people throwing abusive words at each other.
The caption ‘FIR se khao’ points out the hue and cry made by the people and politicians who wanted to put Bhat behind bars.
It is yet to be seen how the issue will end up as the co-founder of comedy sketch group All India Bakchod (AIB) may face legal proceedings since the Shiv Sena and Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have filed a complaint against him.
