In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband after she failed to bear a male child, in Gujarat.
According to police, the victim identified as Hetal Parmar who lives in Bagidol village of Godhra taluka, was pushed into a well by her husband on the night of May 31.
Saidaben Chauhan, a family member of the deceased who filed the petition, said that the mother of four daughters was subjected to frequent harassment by her in-laws and husband for not delivering a son.
On that fateful day, Jitendra dragged Hetal near to a well after they had a heated argument over their four daughters. Jitendra allegedly threatened her saying that a woman who does not give birth to a boy have no right to live, says the complaint filed by Chauhan.
The complaint also says Jitendra pushed Hetal into the well where she died of drowning.
Hetal hails from Kantharai village of Thasra taluka in Kheda district and since her marriage, she was staying with her husband and in-laws in Bagidol village.
Jitendra who went hiding after the incident, is still at large and the police have charged him with murder and a massive search is on to arrest him.
