Actor Aamir Khan criticized the “raped woman” comment of his fellow actor Salman Khan that sparked a controversy a few weeks back, reported Hindustan Times.
“I wasn’t present when he made the comment. I feel going purely by the media reports that I have been reading which quotes him as saying it, I feel what he said was rather unfortunate and insensitive,” Aamir said on Monday in Mumbai.
The Pk actor was speaking at the Mumbai launch of the poster of his upcoming movie ‘Dangal.’
When asked if he would advise his friend on the comment, Aamir said: “Who am I to give advice?” He said that he hadn’t met Salman and talked about the comment after he landed in the controversy.
Salman Khan was severely criticized for his comment that he felt like a raped woman after shooting for his upcoming movie ‘Sultan’ in which he plays the role of a wrestler. When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn’t walk straight. I would eat and then, head right back to training. That couldn’t stop,” he said in a media interaction last month.
Later, his father Salim Khan apologized for the controversial remarks of his son. “Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong. The intention was not wrong,” Salim Khan tweeted.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued a notice to Salman asking him to summon before the panel on July 8.
