Kareena Kapoor is pregnant, and Saif’s ex-wife Amrita Singh is angry about it

Four years after Saif Ali Khan married his co-star and Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor, the couple is now expecting their first baby in December. It’s not a secret that Saif has already gone through this exciting period in his life, not once, but twice when his first wife Amrita Singh gave birth to Sara and Ibrahim.

After the announcement of the actor, it was only natural for a few Indian entertainment magazines to call up his ex-wife and inquire how she felt about it. But, this time, the journalist who rang up Amrita got the most unlikely answer from the former actress.

According to reports, Amrita was enraged after the reporter of a Bollywood online magazine hurled the question at her. The actress reportedly lost her cool and asked the journo “”How do you have the guts to call people and ask such random questions? Who are you? Don’t call me again!”

The reason for the infuriated response of the actress brings to mind her divorce with Saif. They got married in their early 20s, despite the disapproval from Saif’s royal family. While both enjoyed the limelight of the Bollywood industry, Amrita decided to step back and look after the family.

After 13 years of life together, both decided to separate in 2007 and the reason for their separation is still not clear. But, both were heard by close friends saying that they faced turbulence in their marriage, which is common among couples who get married at an early age. But, the breakup affected Amrita more than Saif, who is still very active in the Bollywood industry.

During the post-divorce days, it was reported that Saif asked for a complete freezing of Amrita’s bank accounts. Media reports also say that Saif didn’t bother to give any financial assistance to Amrita and his two children.

Amrita faced financial crunch in making two ends meet and had to make a comeback to the movie industry to support her family. She worked on television and the big screen, and once said “I need to work to support myself and my kids.”

It was after all this showdown that Saif married Kareena in 2012. Even though Kareena once told that Saif’s daughter Sara comes to India only for vacations and they hardly talk about Bollywood when they meet, recent reports suggest that Amrita and Kareena try to avoid their awkward meetings during public functions.

Two days back Saif announced to the media, “My wife and I would like to announce that we are expecting our first child in December. We would like to thank our well-wishers for their blessings and support and also the press for their discretion and patience.”
