The Salman Khan-starrer action romantic drama ‘Sultan’ has entered the Rupees 200 crore club.
The movie, released on Wednesday earned Rs, 180.3 crore by Sunday, reported The Indian Express. According to trade analysts, the movie was likely to cross the 200 crore mark after the box office receipts on Monday.
The movie, touted to become the biggest blockbuster of 2016, is also the third one of Salman Khan to enter the 200 crore club after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Kick.
The movie started with a whopping collection of 36.54 on Wednesday followed by 37.32, 31.67, 36.62, and 38.21 crore the following days, respectively. The Monday earnings are yet to be finalized.
Bollywood is impatiently waiting to see whether Sultan will break the record of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which is the biggest hit of Salman so far with Rs. 316 crore earnings. The first four-day collection of the movie has exceeded the lifetime collections of Airlift (Rs 127.8 crore) and Housefull 3 (Rs 107.7 crore).
The worldwide collection of Sultan, till date, is estimated to be Rs. 269.49 Crore. Sultan is the top movie in the international market this year, beating China’s Cold War II.
The actor took to Twitter to thank the audience for their support and praise.
“Thx for appreciating sultan . Wld u want to watch my performance on #iifa tonite. sm thing like this..,” tweeted Salman Khan.
