A 24-year-old Indian student was allegedly stabbed to death by his Indian roommate in Austin, Texas, in the United States on Monday, reported The New Indian Express. The deceased identified as Gundam Sankirth from Kacheguda in Hyderabad was killed by 27-year-old Sai Sandeep Goud Kurremula who is also from Hyderabad.
According to media reports, Sankirth had been pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science at University of New Haven. He moved to the US two years back after completing engineering graduation from Hyderabad.
Sandeep Goud Kurremula, who has been working with a US company, has moved to Sankirth’s room two weeks back through an agency arrangement. There was one more person called Praneeth in the room.
Praneeth told the police that Sankirth and Kurremula had a heating argument before he was killed on Monday. He said that he rushed to the room hearing some noise to see Sankirth lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Kurremula stabbed him in the abdomen.
When the police reached the spot following an emergency call, they saw Sai Sandeep Goud Kurremula trying to load Sankirth into a car with the help of another person. The police immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died during the treatment.
“We got a call on Tuesday morning from one of our relatives, who was informed about Sankirth’s death by his roommate Praneeth. Our relatives are trying to finish the formalities fast and bring back the body as soon as possible,” A Venkat Rao, Sankirth’s uncle, told The New Indian Express.
