Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan will present concert.
The Naperville Indian Community Outreach will host the second annual India-Day Parade on 14, August 2016 in Downtown Naperville. The event that showcases the cultural diversity of India is being conducted to celebrate India’s Independence Day.
“Spectators will experience an amazing colorful parade like none other,” Krishna Bansal, chairman of Naperville Indian Community Outreach told Chicago Tribune. “Large decorated floats and colorful Indian folk, classical and modern dances are some of the highlights,” he added.
The event is organized in collaboration with the City of Naperville and Indian Consulate General.
The highlight of the celebration is the concert by India’s sensational Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan and her Group. Chauhan will also serve as the grand marshal of the parade which features 40 colorful floats and dance performance by ethnic dancers.
“It’s lots of fun for families, with dances, food, drinks, a children’s area,” Bansal said. Apart from the chance to learn about Indian culture, food, and arts, there will be vendors selling Indian ethnic arts, apparel and jewelry, and Indian cuisine.
Naperville is the first city to support and host the India Day Parade in the suburban Chicagoland area. Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner, Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico and Consul General of India in Chicago, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed are expected to attend the celebration.
