Company had claimed it started shipment of 65,000 Freedom 251 smartphones.
Ringing Bells, the manufacturer of the cheapest smartphone Freedom 251, announced on Friday that the booking for its new low cost LED TV will begin on August 15.
Customers can book the 31.5-inch Freedom 9900 HD LED TV priced at $148 through the company’s official website (http://ringingbells.co.in/).
“The bookings for the television will remain open for one day i.e. August 15, 2016. The booking will be done on our website and the product will be on cash-on- delivery (COD) model,” the company said in a statement.
“Like our handset, we are expecting a good response for the television and assure our customers that they will get a quality product in an affordable price in the current market scenario,” Ringing Bells said added.
The LED TV from Ringing Bells has resolution of 1366×768 pixels and comes with a contrast ratio of 3000:1. It also has two HDMI ports, two USB ports, and two speakers, reported NDTV.
In July, while launching the LED TV, the company had said that it would start shipping of the TV on August 15. Now, they claim that shipping will commence a day after the Independence Day on August 16. But, the officials has not revealed their delivery strategy, which will complete all the procedures within a day.
Earlier this month, the company had said that it had started shipping 65,000 Freedom 251 smartphones. “We started the process of lottery a few days back and now are dispatching the units to the people. We are elated with the response that we have got for the delivered units,” the company had said in a statement.
The company had faced a backlash in February during the booking of its Freedom 251 smartphone. Their website went down moments after the sales started and according to the figures released by the company, more than a 70 million people tried placing the order, which resulted in the website and payment gateway crashing. The company was supposed to deliver 25 lakh Freedom 251 handsets by June.
Ringing Bells had to refund the money collected from its customers who ordered 29200 units through the website. An FIR was later filed against the company.
