Arresting climate change must rise above the petty politicking as it hurts all.
Climate change has become a political tool in this election year as the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is all to protect climate from deteriorating further, while her rival, Republican, Donald Trump called it a hoax, a Chinese hoax. Now, the outgoing president, Barrack Obama has put his weight behind Clinton as he has decided to preview new efforts to tackle climate change. President Obama may be a lame duck president now, but he is determined to continue hammering away at the effects of climate change when in a new video address, he previewed his latest efforts to address what he called “one of the most urgent challenges of our time,” noting that national & international movements on climate change is no enough and there’s still much more actions must be taken.
“We’re not done yet. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll release a second round of fuel efficiency standards for heavy-duty vehicles,” Mr. Obama said in a video released Saturday. The US is going to join hands with Canada and Mexico to achieve 50 percent clean power across North America by 2025. And, he wowed to protect our lands and waters so that our future generations.
He extolled the accomplishments of his last seven-and-a-half years in office, including setting limits on carbon pollution output from power plants and making “ambitious investments in clean energy, and ambitious reductions in our carbon emissions by multiplying solar power more than thirtyfold. In parts of America, these clean power sources are finally cheaper than dirtier, conventional power. And carbon pollution from our energy sector is at its lowest level in 25 years, even as we’re continuing to grow our economy.”
These actions, according to him, have made the United States “a global leader in the fight against climate change, setting the agenda to combat global warming worldwide.
His address compelled the Republicans to sing a conciliatory note, “Republicans and Democrats can work together,” Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley said. Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, specifically pointed to his committee’s own work in passing legislation.
He added that of the 27 bills passed out of the Judiciary Committee, a dozen of them have been signed into law by the president.
“With four months left in this Congress, the Judiciary Committee has already outpaced the previous Congress in bills processed in committee, passed in the Senate and signed into law,” he said.
Clearly, arresting climate change, a clear and present danger, must rise above the petty politicking as it hurts all.

Why attack terrorism when you can go after the sun? Money and control that’s why.
“-isms” are adjectives, not nouns. You can attack people who commit acts of terror (aka “terrorists”), but you cannot “attack” terrorism. As for AGW, all you’ve demonstrated is that you lack an informed and well reasoned understanding of the subject. And that deficit isn’t likely to be successfully corrected in the comments section of an online article.
