Police yet to nab the perpetrators of crime.
A group of unidentified persons killed a couple and gang-raped two female members, including a minor, of a family in Dhingeri village of Tauroo in Mewat, Gurgaon, Haryana,on Wednesday.
According to media reports, five armed persons stormed into the two houses of the victims which are located near leased farms in Dhingeri village on Wednesday night and beat the couple to death and injured six members of the family. The injured include two women aged 22, and 15, who were allegedly gang raped by the assailants after being locked up.
One of the rape victims managed to escape from the hands of the assailants and informed the villagers about the crime. But, the assailants had escaped with cash, and jewelry kept in the houses before the villagers reached the house to rescue the others.
The victim later filed a case with the police.
“They tied the family members with a cloth inside a room and beat them up with rods and sticks. Then they gang raped me and my 15-year-old cousin,” the 22-year-old woman, who is married, said. “They left at 3am after locking us inside the house,” added the woman.
The villagers rushed the injured to a hospital, but an elderly couple died. The assaulters used sharp weapons to beat the couple.
The rape victim told the police that the gang had used country made pistols. Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case under section 459 (grievous hurt), 460 (trespass), 376 D (gang-rape) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and the Arms Act.
“Primarily it appears to be a case of rape and murder during robbery. We are investigating the case,” a police official told Hindustan Times. The police have initiated a search for the assailants who are on the run.
